Why are we blogging ?

Why did you take the co-op?
I took co-op because I felt like the kinetics aspect to it would open up a lot of doors for my future and the courses also interested me a lot and be able to have superfit was another benefit I was excited about.


What are your plans for next year?
Next year I don't quite have a plan yet, but if I find an interest in courses I'll take whatever I get interested in and if I don't find any interests I'll plan on working for a year and just figure out what to do.


 What activities do you like to do outside of school?
I like to play sports such as hockey, volleyball and baseball and I love to explore and walk around.


 Have you done any fitness activities over the summer?
I have gone to the gym and gone on runs as well as playing baseball over the summer.


 What are your fitness goals for the semester?
Just to become more fit and stronger and get higher scores on the fitness testing.

DEOXY/OXY BLOOD
LEFT ATRIUM
Takes in oxygen-rich blood back into the heart from the lungs and forces it through the Mitral valve into the Left Ventricle.
Oxy Blood
LEFT VENTRICLE
Pushes the blood through the Aortic valve and out into your body.
Oxy Blood
RIGHT ATRIUM
Collects oxygen-poor blood coming back from the body and forces it through the Tricuspid valve and into the Right Ventricle.
Deoxy Blood
RIGHT VENTRICLE
Takes the oxygen-poor blood and forces it through the Pulmonary Valve into the lungs for oxygen.

PULMONARY ARTERY
Carries blood from the heart to the lungs to pick up oxygen.

Carries oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the rest of your body.

SUPERIOR VENA CAVA
Oxygen-poor blood returning from the upper parts of the body to the heart comes through the Superior Vena Cava.

INFERIOR VENA CAVA
Oxygen-poor blood returning from the lower parts of the body to the heart comes through Inferior Vena Cava.

ATRIOVENTRICULAR VALVES (Mitral & Tricuspid)
They both control blood flow from their respective atriums into their respective ventricles.
Mitral is Oxy Blood and Tricuspid is Deoxy Blood
CHORDAE TENDINAE
Relaxes when blood is flowing from the Atria to the Ventricles and pushes both AV Valves to close simultaneously preventing backflow into the Atria and the flaps attempt to evert to low pressure regions.

SEMI LUNAR VALVES (Pulmonary & Aortic)
The Pulmonary Valve controls blood flow into the Pulmonary Arteries from the Right Ventricle and the Aortic Valve controls blood flow into the Aorta from the Left Ventricle.
Pulmonary is Deoxy Blood and Aortic is Oxy Blood
SEPTUM
Separates the Left and Right Atria and the Left and Right Ventricles.
