Goldstone Buddy Final Reflection

PE leaders -
1.  What adjustments and improvements did you make in your lessons (structure, activities, organization, instructions) from the first lesson to the last one?
We thought more on how they would be able to understand the game or activity that we were teaching and we took more time to make sure they understood it properly.

2.  What was the biggest challenge for your group?  For you?
I think it was for almost every group, but getting the kids to understand and listen was the most challenging part and also trying to come up with new activities every week.

3.  Describe your favourite moment as a leader and explain why.
It was so much fun playing with the kids and seeing them laughing and enjoying themselves. Made you feel good and happy inside.

4. What do you still need to work on?  What improvements would you make if you were continuing teaching for another month?
Being more efficient and getting the kids organized and playing as fast as possible.

PE Buddies -
1.  What are some of the things that you learned being a PE buddy?
Being a buddy I learned how much fun it is to be that young and just run around doing nonsense, but also at the same time saw how they act at that age and are able to learn by just running around.

2.  Did your comfort level change over the course of the month?  Why or why not?
Yes, at first it was embarrassing to do all the activities with the kids, but then it became fun to act silly and just have fun.

3.  What was your favourite part of being a buddy?  Be specific.
Seeing the kids having fun and being chased by them and playing all of the games with them.

In conclusion -
Rate the following:

Your group -
Lesson planning  4/5
Organization  4/5
Instructional clarity  4/5
Team work   5/5
Improvement  5/5

You -
Interaction with buddy  9/10
Improvement on your goal  4/5

Comments:
I will miss working with the kids and hopefully we'll see them around.

Fitness Goal Post

I'm pretty sure I already did this post, but I can't find it... Anyways by the end of the year I want to become a lot more stronger in physical strength and physical endurance and improve my cardio and be able to run more.

Tommy John Surgery (Muscle Interesting Post)

Being a baseball pitcher and going to lots of High Performance Team tryouts recently for British Colombia I've heard lots of the safety of our arm and how to prevent injuries such as the Tommy John Injury, also known as ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) reconstruction. The injury and surgery got its name from the hall of fame pitcher Tommy John who was the first to undergo the surgery. He recently passed away last year. The procedure is to replace the UCL with a tendon from elsewhere in the body. When getting Tommy John Surgery your arm gets opened up around the elbow and you get holes drilled into your ulna and humerus bones where the new tendon would go. The tendon usually comes from the same or other forearm or from below the knee. To prevent pain the ulnar nerve is removed as scar tissue is formed that can apply pressure to the nerve. One of the main risks to getting this surgery is if you keep throwing afterwards and you tare it again.
